Champlain College will be hosting a very interesting forum on IP (intellectual property) on February 17th. I’m sure I don’t need to emphasize just how important this topic is for game developers. I encourage you all to attend. If you have a class, I suggest you ask to be excused to attend this event.
Friday, February 17
2:00-3:30pm
Details:
The panel discussion will be moderated by Professor John Stroup and will feature Champlain faculty and library staff members as well as a member of Senator Leahy’s Judiciary Committee staff who has agreed to come up from Washington to join the very topical conversation about PIPA and SOPA, the two proposals currently working their way through Congress on protection against piracy on the internet. There will be statements and discussion by members of the panel on the rights of creators and the rights of access as framed by the practical matter of law and regulation.
There will be opportunities for questions from the floor on this timely issue that will impact all of us, regardless of the resolution. We are anticipating attendance by something like 100 people but the capacity of the space is 150.
