Microsoft Game and Entertainment Studios
On Monday, some of the game faculty had a phone conversation with Microsoft Entertainment Studios.
They’re looking to hire for “extremely well paid” summer interns (upwards of $20K for the summer) as well as recent graduates in all areas of Game Development. The cool part is that Champlain College is on their radar. What you need to know is that the hiring is done between September and November. So if you interested in a great experience, contact your career adviser (Mark Zammuto).
Debugging Tutorial
Although we only had a handful of students show up for my late night debugging tutorial earlier this week, those who did attend claim that they learned a lot. We covered beginning to midrange debugging skills in about 45 minutes.
I hear we had to compete with the Humans V Zombies planning meeting… which is a bit like trying to hold a new conference during the Super Bowl. Next time I’m hoping to do a bit better with the timing.
New Blog for Game Programming
And my final news update for today… we have a New Blog for Game Programming news. Looking for the latest happenings on campus and additional resources for learning game development from your peers? Then check it out: http://gamechamplain.blogspot.com/
Game Industry News
Oh… one more thing. Since I follow GameIndustry.biz fairly regularly (a UK perspective on the Game Industry), I’ve made sure they’ve added Champlain College to their directory.
I recommend that all student consider getting an account on this site if you don’t already have one.
